On 13th August 2004, Summer Olympics 2004 was held on Athens, Greece. It was officially known as the Games of the XXVIII Olympiad.. This grand event was held for 17 days, i.e. 13th to 29th August, 2004. With approximately 10,500 athletes, along with 5,500 officials and around 202 countries, it was a gala event. You would be astonished to know that there were 301 medal events and that were from 28 different sports.
Mascot of Athens Olympics were the sister and brother Athinia and Phevos. They were named after goddess of wisdom, strategy and war, Athena and the God of light and music, Phebos.
